Growing up I was always obese, I was bullied for being overweight. I suffered severely in both my physical and mental health. For years, I did nothing about this. At 16 one event changed my life and that event was the turning point for my health, my fitness and my life. When I first started exercise I was on many fat burning programs, muscle building programs and strength training programs. A lot of these were good and some were utter crap. Boxing was the first sport I ever got into over 10 years ago. The fitness involved was life changing. I built my confidence and lost the weight I wanted.
This journey then lead me to Bodybuilding and Power-lifting. I competed in a Power-lifting comp. When I met Elyse I managed to start lifting heavier whilst keeping my physique because of her nutrition plans. Reaching my fitness goals excites me and makes me want to push my body to the extreme each day.

Being a dancer for most of my life, the focus on what we looked like and the food we ate played a huge role in my many years of struggle with eating disorders and body dysmorphia. Then came the post pregnancy weight gain.
I knew how much exercise I needed to do to lose body fat and stay fit, I knew the right type of exercise I needed to do to hit any number of goals but every time I looked at a plate of food I would break down into tears. Something had to change.
This began my journey into understanding nutrition and deep health. Eating food for fuel and nourishment, because I wanted to learn to love my body and wanted to take care of it. Not because I hated it and wanted to deprive it of its needs or change the way I looked to please others.
Almost 10 years of study, experience, experimentation and evidence-based research (and plenty of time in the kitchen), I have a healthier relationship with food, a clearer understanding of what nutrition means and my workouts (and mind) are better for it.
I'm passionate about women's health, I love to cook and would consider myself a bit of foodie.
Upon meeting my partner, Marty, I was still struggling to love what I saw in the mirror. But with his help, love, support and killer training programs, my mindset changed. Strong not skinny. Real Food over fake. For the love of my body, not for the insecurities.
